Monique Ong

Founder MindNation

Monique Ong is trying to change the world with a below-average brain. She started her career 20 years ago at the Fortune’s top 500 companies: P&G, Uniqlo and Facebook to provide business strategies, digital marketing integration, building scale and relationships C-level down in local, regional and global marketing assignments. She has moved to 9 different countries in 13 years, managing every continent than Antarctica.

3 years ago in a business trip to Singapore, she was found on the floor with blood coming out of her right ear. She was in a coma for 21 days. When she woke up, she could not stand up, walk, swallow, eat, talk or write well, no abilities, and with half of her skull gone and right eye blind. When everything else is taken from you, you have a clear view of what’s left: grit, determination, and the will not just to survive, but to thrive. She is trying to go back to normal though her brain damage will be there permanently.

Since then, she founded a new company called MindNation to provide mental healthcare support for employees. She is a TEDx speaker and the director of TBI Spark, a non-profit organization to create awareness and support for Traumatic Brain Injury warriors and caregivers.
