WHY IS IT SO IMPORTANT TO HAVE MALE CHAMPIONS FOR GENDER BALANCE?

Research is showing over and again, the world’s most successful companies are also led by the most gender balanced led teams. To achieve this gender balance at the C-Suite and Board level , men play a disproportionately vital role given that over 93% of Fortune Global 500 CEOs are currently male. The 2026 Break the ceiling touch the sky®  101 Index (BTC 101 Global Index) which ranks gender balance across the Boards and Executive teams of all 500 Companies of the Fortune global 500 highlights how gender balanced led companies vastly outperform non gender balanced led companies.

In the 2026 BTC 101 Global Index:

  • 73% of BTC 101 Index companies  reported year-over-year revenue growth, compared to 60% of non-Index companies
  • 52% of BTC 101 Index companies reported year-over-year profit growth, compared to 47% of non-Index companies
  • In the bottom 100 amongst non-Index Companies, only 48% grew revenue versus year ago and only 44% grew profit

Companies in top quartile of gender diversity on executive teams  are 21% more likely to outperform peers in EBIT margin. Gender diverse firms are 70% more likely to enter new markets successfully. Diverse teams make better decisions 87% of the time and are 60% better at problem solving. Research shows that when men play a role in gender equality in the workplace, adoption is faster and organizations report faster progress on the gender equality agenda (and subsequently greater positive business impact!)

So there has never been a more important time for men and women  to work together and advocate  for gender equality at the world’s largest companies if we collectively wish to build better leadership, better business and a better world.

The  2026 Break the ceiling touch the sky® Male Champions for Gender Equality  is a listing that starts with over 250 nominees and leverages House of Rose Professional’s proprietary research of over 6500 male executives globally from over 800 Companies.  While this is obviously not a complete representation of all the great work being done by male advocates and allies around the world, the list serves as a highlight of men that deserve to be celebrated for their ongoing allyship.

Five factors are used  in the final determination of the Male Champions. Active and visible advocacy for gender equality in 2025; Scale of influence across industry;  Commitment to advancing high performing women in leadership in their own organizations; Supporting women to learn externally from other best in class organizations at Break the ceiling touch the sky® – the success and leadership summit for women; Investing in policies and best practices that build gender balanced teams.

While the 2026 Break the ceiling touch the sky® Male Champions for gender equality are invited  to share their best practices for leadership, inclusion and success through the  2026-2027 world tour of  Break the ceiling touch the sky® – the success and leadership summit for women (and all allies)  taking place as per the dates mentioned below,  the 2026 ASIA WORLD Edition on Oct 12, 2026 in Singapore will be the primary event for this recognition.   The list of 2026 Male Champions will be celebrated through the tour  based on availability and ability to contribute in some way to MISSION 2029 FOR A BETTER WORLD – the global initiative started in 2020 by HORP and its associate companies to shape better business, better leadership and a better world via better gender balance. A nomination on this list does not come with any “entry fee” or “nomination fee”. Any support that the champions render to MISSION 2029 FOR A BETTER WORLD or to the global Break the ceiling touch the sky® summit  is entirely at the discretion of the nominees.
