John Casey
President and Managing Director, CNBC International
John Casey is the President and Managing Director of CNBC International, responsible for managing and growing CNBC’s assets in Europe, the Middle East, Africa (EMEA) and the Asia Pacific region. He was appointed to the role in June 2020.
A highly-respected veteran journalist, Casey has been with CNBC for more than 25 years and was most recently Senior Vice President, News and Programming for CNBC International. In this role he was responsible for the network’s editorial output outside of the United States, and built world-class editorial and production teams, while expanding CNBC International’s audience across TV, digital, social, audio and live events, and overseeing a network of local language CNBC affiliates including ones in India, Japan, South Africa and the UAE.
Under his guidance CNBC International has remained the number one Business and Financial News brand in Europe and the Asia Pacific region among affluent individuals, growing its audience across all platforms. John’s multi-platform approach to content production catapulted the network’s digital audience to record levels.
Previously, Casey was VP, News and Programming, APAC and before that was Head of News & Programming based in Singapore, responsible for leading CNBC Asia through a new programming lineup and integrating two new partnerships (SBS-CNBC in Korea, & CCTV2 in China). Prior to that, he served as Deputy Head of News for CNBC Europe based in London. Casey was also the creator and Executive Producer of “Worldwide Exchange,” the world’s first global live newscast, broadcast simultaneously in Asia, Europe and the U.S. each business day. Earlier in his career he developed CNBC Europe’s rolling, volume-driven ticker and the FTSE CNBC Global 300 Index.
