Prior to joining J&J on Feb 1, 2016, Chester was Vice President, Customer Business Development, P&G and recognized as one of the Company’s key commercial thought leaders with experience at global, regional and local levels.
With a wide ranging experience over 27 years across multiple geographies including the US, Europe, China, India and ASEAN, Chester has been responsible for some of the key breakthroughs P&G had seen in its expansion across the world, including P&G’s expansion into rural China and the ‘India 3000’ program which extended P&G’s reach in India ten-fold from 300 towns to 3000.
Chester’s work in India was called out by P&G Chairman and CEO AG Lafley at the 2004 P&G Global shareholder Meeting as transformational. He said “Chester Twigg created “India 3,000” – the plan to expand P&G’s distribution in India ten-fold, from 300 to 3,000 cities and towns across India. His ability to be in touch with a complex network of distribution partners, and to be in touch with the potential of the P&G India organization, has helped increase volume by 50% last year. India is now the third fastest-growing country in the P&G world.”
In his last role leading the Global A.S Watson Customer team, Chester lead a team of multi-functional P&G Managers (including Sales, Marketing, Finance, Analytics, Supply Chain, etc.) responsible for go to market strategies across brands.
Chester is passionate about building High Performance Organizations and teams and was a master trainer for some of P&G’s most stringent training programs including Positive Power and Influence, Seven Habits Emotional Intelligence and High Impact Leadership for over 20 years. He is also active in the community and has contributed via Board positions at the St Paul Cathedral Church, Calcutta –Board of Governors 1991-2000; Christ Church School/Barnes School/Mission School- Board Member 1990-2000; and the American International School Guangzhou China – Board Member 2005 to 2012.
Born in India, Chester has a Bachelor of Commerce and Economics, MBA (Marketing) from Bombay University.
Chester is currently based in Singapore with his entrepreneur wife Harpreet and his two children Maxine and Mathew.
