The 2023 Break the ceiling touch the sky® list of Africa’s Most Inspirational Women in Leadership is the second annual listing  of the most successful women in leadership in Africa in support of  House of Rose Professional’s  Mission 2029 for a Better World –   which aims to shape a better world via better diversity & inclusion, better leadership and better business. The Measure for MISSION 2029 for a Better World is to  quintuple the number of Female CEOs  and double the number of male (advocates for diversity) CEOs in the World’s 500 largest Companies by end 2029. Research shows that when considering a potential employer, 61% of women look at the diversity of the employers leadership team, 67% at whether it has positive role models similar to them, and 56% at whether the organization publicly shares its progress on diversity. Research from the Break the ceilinng touch the sky® 101 Best Global Companies for women in leadership Index (BTC 101 Index) indicates that Companies with greater gender gender diversity on the boards and executive leadership teams are growing sales and profits faster than non-gender-diverse companies.  Gender diversity & inclusion in organizations is a critical indicator of success.

The 2023 Break the ceiling touch the sky® list of Africa’s Most Inspirational Women in Leadership focused almost entirely on the Corporate world for this list and  was curated by House of Rose Professional from its review of female executives in over  450 major Companies operating in Africa. (50 additional companies were examined this year over  the 2022 benchmark).

Five factors were used in the final determination of Africa’s Most Inspirational Women in leadership.  Career achievements; scale of influence; active and visible advocacy for gender equality; active support of other women in leadership within and outside of their own organizations/ Companies; and sharing of their best practices for success across broader industry.  For this 2023 listing additional emphasis was placed on the visible support that these women leaders were giving to other women in leadership in Africa.

The 2023  Break the ceiling touch the sky® list of Africa’s Most Inspirational Women in Leadership is reiteration of the increasing critical importance of Africa to the world. The listing is not part of any “certification” program and a spot on the list is earned and cannot be paid for. It is simply meant to inspire young professionals to dream big and identify and access role models that could be instrumental in their own success over the years as we all collectively strive to shape better diversity & inclusion, better leadership, better business and a better world via MISSION 2029 FOR A BETTER WORLD.
