Aruna brings strong cross group collaboration and a get-it-done attitude to her roles in the corporate environment. She has been with Microsoft in a variety of technical and managerial roles since 1996 (13+ years in Seattle, 5 years in New York, and most recently for 6 months in India).
She has worked in many projects and roles across the company including product development, sales, marketing, and consulting, and support. Much of her journey involved exploring various disciplines and functions within the company. Each step of the way allowed her to enhance her skillset which in turn allowed her to add value back to the company.
She is currently Director of Global Partner Services business based in Bangalore, India. Global Partner Services serves Americas, Europe, and Asia. Aside from her day to day job, she mentors female employees at Microsoft as well as young entrepreneurs.
Aruna obtained a Bachelor degree (BA) in Computer Science in 1996 from Wellesley College. Wellesley College’s notable alumnae include Nora Ephron, Madeline Albright, Madam Chiang Kai-sheck, and Hillary Rodham Clinton. Aruna went on to receive her MBA from New York University’s Stern School of Business in 2002.
Although Aruna grew up and lived in the U.S., she still has close and strong roots in India. Aruna comes from a family where there’s focus on education (several educational institutions are funded by family in Andhra Pradesh) and community enrichment for underprivileged (an association is funded by a family trust fund in Telangana). During her free time, she practices yoga and gets involved in community service work primarily focused on children’s education and children’s cultural enrichment.
