Pier Luigi Sigismondi joined Dole with over 20 years of industry experience in Consumer Goods. Based at its headquarters in Singapore, Pier Luigi is leading the Dole Packaged Foods business globally and is driving a historical transformation to become an iconic Nutrition and Wellness business across all markets around the world.
Before joining the company, Pier Luigi was the President of Unilever for South East Asia and Australasia since 2016. He joined Unilever and its Executive Board in September 2009 as Chief Supply Chain Officer. Pier Luigi was appointed Non-Executive Director of Rexel SA Supervisory Board and was the Chairman of its Strategic Committee (2013-2016). He is also a Non-Executive Board Member of Ben & Jerry’s since 2014.
In 2002, Pier Luigi joined Nestle SA (CH) as Vice President of Corporate Operations Strategies. He was responsible for industrial strategies and the worldwide restructuring of the group, as well as for management of global cost improvement programs. Pier Luigi led the Innovation Acceleration initiatives for Nestle across all the business categories. He moved to Nestle Mexico in 2005 as Vice- President of Operations and R&D for four years.
Prior to his career in the FMCG industry, Pier Luigi invested about ten years in the Management Consulting sector in Booz Allen & Hamilton and AT Kearney. He started his career as an industrial engineer and worked in several industries (aerospace, automotive, appliances and consumer goods among others), heading several multi-national assignments in the US, Europe, Latin America and South East Asia.
Holding a Masters of Science in Industrial Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology in USA, Pier Luigi is a member of Singularity University global community and a strong believer of the proactive role companies can play against climate change, social equality and inclusion when doing business.
Pier Luigi is an Italian national and is happily married since 1991 with three daughters. His main interests are motor-racing, flying planes, sports, fitness, and reading.
