Chief Executive Officer, Prudential Assurance Company, Singapore
Philip Seah assumed the position of Chief Executive Officer of Prudential Assurance Company Singapore (Prudential Singapore) with effect from 22 October 2015, for the second time. He was the CEO from 2006 to 2010.
Philip is a Singaporean and has remained steadfast to the Company throughout his illustrious career in the insurance industry which has spanned more than three decades. He first joined Prudential Singapore as a part time Life Insurance agent in 1978 while working as a steward with Singapore Airlines. He decided to become a career Life Insurance Agent in 1979 and progressed rapidly through the Agency ranks to become a Senior Agency Manager. In the process, he was also very involved in the Life Underwriters Association and rose to become its President in 1989.
In 1990, Philip was offered the unprecedented opportunity of leading the Agency force as Assistant General Manager (Field Staff Operations) of Prudential Assurance Singapore. He was subsequently appointed the Chief Distribution Officer when Prudential embraced Bancassurance as another form of Life Insurance distribution.
In 2004, Philip accepted a regional position with Prudential Corporation Asia. He relocated his family to Hong Kong, the regional headquarters and served as the Director of Agency Development. In 2006, he was appointed as Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Prudential Philippines as part of succession planning to the retiring CEO of Prudential Philippines. However, in mid-2006, he was promoted as the Chief Executive Officer of Prudential Singapore, a position he held till end 2010.
In January 2011, Philip was appointed to helm the newly created role of Regional Chief Agency Officer at PCA before he was asked to take on the role of CEO of Prudential Assurance Malaysia Berhad (PAMB) in September 2012, a position he held for just over three years till October 2015
Philip is married to Christine since 1983 and together, they have four children Charmaine, Russell, Brandon and Darryl. He has a grand-daughter Charlie Rose form Charmaine and son-in-law Derek
The family is Catholic and they are active parishioners at Our Lady of Perpetual Succour in Siglap, where Philip and Christine were married
