Meghna Pant is an award-winning author and journalist. Her debut collection of short stories Happy Birthday (Random House India, 2013) was longlisted for the world’s biggest short story award: The Frank O’Connor International Prize 2014. The book was said to be “in the front row of Indian short fiction; a gem from the subcontinent” by The Sunday Guardian. One And A Half Wife (Westland, 2012) – her bestselling debut novel – won the national Muse India Young Writer Award and was shortlisted for other awards, including the Amazon Breakthrough Novel Award. Her latest book THE TROUBLE WITH WOMEN (Juggernaut, 2016) is considered a landmark in feminist writing and was described as “the best book from Juggernaut” by The Hindu Business Line. She’s also won the FON SOUTH ASIA SHORT STORY AWARD (2016) and the BHARAT NIRMAN AWARD (2017) for her writing. An outspoken feminist, Meghna curates a popular monthly panel discussion on feminism in Mumbai called ‘Feminist Rani’, and interviews India’s leading opinion makers and change leaders from Shobhaa De to Chanda Kochhar to Kalki Koechlin to Deepa Malik on online shows like She’s The Boss (Firstpost), First Lady (Firstpost), and Get Real (SheThePeople.TV).
