President, Singapore Council of Women’s Organizations (SCWO)
Called to the Singapore Bar in 1993, Malathi has over 20 years of experience in litigation and dispute resolution. She has particular expertise in areas of divorce and family law, including cross-border family disputes involving local and expatriate families. She represents high net worth clients as well as supports deserving pro bono causes.
Her areas of family practice cover contested divorces, child custody, matrimonial asset division, spousal and child maintenance, and family violence. She practises in the Family Justice Courts, as well as the High Court and the Court of Appeal.
She is on the Panel of Child Representatives in the Family Justice Courts and is a member of the Family Law Practitioner (FLP) Accreditation Committee.
Malathi is the Subject Coordinator for the Family Law Practice module at the Singapore Institute of Legal Education.
She is also President of the Singapore Council of Women’s Organisation (SCWO) and Chair of its Maintenance Support Central (MSC) Management Committee
