Joanne Marques serves as Vice President of Government Relations for Central Europe, Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa (CEMEA). In this capacity, she leads the company’s engagement and partnerships with governments and regulators in the CEMEA region.
Joanne has significant experience working across multiple markets around the world both in the private sector and in government. In 2009, Joanne served as Director of Business Development for Honeywell International based in Baghdad leading Honeywell’s market entry into Iraq and managing its operational setup. Joanne received the Honeywell Chairman’s Award for Exceptional Achievement in 2010 for her work in Iraq. In 2011, she transitioned with Honeywell to the United Arab Emirates where she served as Director of Government Relations for Europe, Middle East and Africa managing Honeywell’s government engagements across the region.
Prior to joining Honeywell International, Joanne served as Counsellor at the World Bank Office of the Special Representative to the United Nations in New York. Joanne also served at the US Department of Defense as a Special Assistant for Middle Eastern Affairs in Washington, DC. Prior to that, she served as Senior Policy Advisor and Chief of Staff for the Office of Policy and International Affairs at the US Department of Energy in Washington, DC.
Joanne obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Michigan (Double Major in Political Science and Near Eastern Studies) and her Juris Doctor degree from Case Western Reserve University School of Law.
