Dina Howell retired as Chief Executive Officer & President of Saatchi & Saatchi X in December 2015. Founded in 1997, Saatchi X is an advertising agency which is trusted by global category leading billion-dollar brands as well as small start-up companies to deliver growth and sustainable business results utilizing shopper marketing. Under her leadership, Saatchi & Saatchi X earned more than 141 international industry and brand awards including 16 Effie Awards which signify the pinnacle of business building campaigns. Ad Age recognized Saatchi & Saatchi X as one of the Top 20 Agencies in the U.S. in 2014.
Dina is a pioneer, architect and well-known international authority in Shopper Marketing. As an industry expert, she is cited in the landmark study by Deloitte Consulting on Shopper Marketing; wrote the Foreword to Google’s “ZMOT, the Zero Moment of Truth”; and is often quoted in business publications, such as The Wall Street Journal, The Economic Times, Shopper Marketing, and Ad Age.
Dina was recognized in the 2014 book, Break the Ceiling, Touch the Sky; Success Secrets of the World’s Most Inspirational Women, as a strong business leader who always delivers results. Dina was named 2015 Marketer of the Year by the Acedemy of Marketing Science. Honored numerous times for her industry contributions, Dina has been recognized in Advertising Age Women to Watch; Point of Purchase Hall of Fame; and six times in “Who’s Who in Shopper Marketing”.
A coveted speaker, Dina has delivered keynote presentations at the World Retail Congress; Shopper Insights in Action; Sweets & Snacks EXPO; FMI Mid-Winter Conference; and National Confectioners Association State of the Industry; as well as other global conferences attended by top business leaders.
Dina joined Saatchi & Saatchi X in 2010 after retiring from Procter & Gamble. She began her career with P&G in 1988 in Brand Management. During her 22 year P&G career, she had numerous roles of increasing responsibilities including being appointed an officer and ultimately retiring as Vice President Global Media and Brand Operations. Dina led the establishment of shopper and retailer marketing within P&G, and the Industry credits her as the primary architect.
Dina served on the 2014/2015 Board of Directors for the Thirty Percent Coalition, an organization committed to achieving gender diversity in public company boardrooms. Dina also chaired the marketing and communications committee on the Dean’s Executive Advisory Board for the Sam M. Walton College of Business at the University of Arkansas and the Executive Board for the Center for Retailing Excellence at the University of Arkansas through 2015. Dina continues to serve on the Board of Directors for the Heart of America Foundation in Washington, D.C., and the Board of Directors for Give Kids the World Foundation in Orlando, Florida.
In 2015, Dina was appointed to the Board of Directors of SpinMaster, a toy and entertainment company on the Toronto Stock Exchange.
