Mashudu Lembede has more than 16 years of experience in the testing, inspection, and certification industries, as well as the mining sector. She was previously the Regional Head of Sales for Bureau Veritas Southern Africa and is now the Country Chief Executive for Bureau Veritas Zambia. Mashudu began her career as a geologist in the platinum and coal industries before transitioning to the commodities business development role at Bureau Veritas Inspectorate Laboratories.

Mashudu is passionate about education and entrepreneurship, and believes that all stakeholders must be involved in both for our continent’s future growth and success. She is currently the South African ambassador, representing the Women in Africa Initiative. Women in Africa is an international platform dedicated to the economic development and support of African women who are leaders and have great potential. The Women in Africa Initiative has offices in Dakar, Casablanca, and Paris and covers 54 countries.

She also serves as a mentor to other women through various platforms such as the DreamGirls International Outreach & Mentoring Program and the company’s CSR Committee. The goal of these programs is to encourage young girls to plan for their future, reach their full potential, pursue a tertiary education, and become empowered and successful individuals who serve as positive change agents in their communities.

Mashudu has Master of Management in Strategic Marketing from Wits Business School, Honours in BSc Geology and BSc degree from the University of the Witwatersrand.
