Attending yesterday’s Break the Ceiling Touch the Sky World Edition 2019 as a delegate and jury member for the Leonie Awards.

So proud to see this flagship Summit for Women in Leadership grow from strength to strength due the dedication and true grit of dear friend Anthony Rose, Dilya and his wonderful team for the 5th year running. Yesterday’s solid programme was as usual inspiring and thought-provoking.

Particularly enjoyed the Keynotes by Jim Lafferty (Fine Hygenic Holdings) and Christina Ruggiero (Hindustan Coca Cola) and the Resilience and Courage Masterclass by Vijay Santhanam, a stroke survivor. Glad to have been able to attend with Zonta International President Susanne von Bassewitz and ITE Dy CEO Sabrina Loi. Both were impressed and inspired by the high level, quality presentations.

Dear Anthony, et al,

My email comes with a note of thanks to Break the Ceiling Touch the Sky for an exceptional event. I had no idea that my Prime Time Professional Association membership would lead to attendance at such a momentous opportunity.

What I enjoyed tremendously was the opportunity we had to speak to Suresh Rai, VP of HR at Unilever during the Speed Mentoring session. This was a brilliant idea which I/we found this to be quite valuable. It is a session I had never experienced at ANY forum.

Thank you Anthony Rose, Alex von Behr, and the great minds who I’ve had the privilege to meet and interact with during this summit – incredibly inspiring – Be Unstoppable at #breaktheceilingtouchthesky!

Together with an excellent panel, we discussed on the roles men can play in powering the diversity & inclusion agenda. Thank you Sarita Singh for being an excellent moderator, and to the rest of the male champions panelists Richard Mclean Max Rangel Chester Twigg

I believe that many men want to be involved in the D&I agenda, but may not know where to start or begin. If I may encourage you – start a conversation, observe your environment, identify gaps and think of what you could do to contribute and make a positive impact. Together, we can do so much!

Am also proud that Unilever was recognized for being one of the best companies for gender diversity (gender-balanced here at SEAA!) Diversity & Inclusion is at the heart of Unilever and the driving force of why we do what we do here.

Diversity is being invited to the party. Inclusion is being asked to dance.

My vision is for all of us to dance together!

Dear Anthony,
Thank you for a wonderful conference. I enjoyed the personal stories of the power women you invited to this conference and was inspired by their personal journeys. The panels were well balanced and I appreciated the perspective of male leaders and their support for gender diversity in their companies.

Having so many men attending this conference is a testament that the situation for women is changing and that conferences like yours aid in sharing best practices and subsequently moving the needle for more gender balanced businesses.

Thank you again and I am looking forward to next year’s conference.
