Brian Walker

SVP and Chief Human Resources Officer, Unifrax

 

Brian Walker is SVP and Chief Human Resources Officer at Unifrax. As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, he leads all aspects of Human Resources for 2,300 employees across the world. Brian joined Unifrax on July 31, 2017.

 

Prior to Unifrax, Brian held various global HR roles in Walmart Stores, Kimberly Clark Corporation, and Sally Beauty Holdings. At Sally Beauty, he led all Human Resources function for the public 28,000 employee global company. Brian worked for Kimberly-Clark as Vice President of International Human Resources. And prior to that, he was Vice President of Human Resources, Asia for Walmart. Throughout his 18-year career with Walmart, he held a series of global line and HR roles of increasing responsibility including Training Manager, General HR Manager, Organizational Development Manager, Director of Global Mobility, and Senior Director of International HR. During his tenure with the company, he was based in numerous global locations, including Mexico, Indonesia, Canada, China, Hong Kong, and the U.S.

 

Brian has authored several articles and is considered a LinkedIn influencer. One article, “A Human Resources Career is not a Career for ‘Nice’ People”, is one of the most widely read leadership/HR articles between 2016 and 2019.

 

Brian is an active board member of the Las Gaviotas Foundation, dedicated to providing scholarships to under-privileged middle and high school aged children in Guatemala.

 

Brian is originally from Nevada. He earned a BA in Spanish in 1991 from Brigham Young University (BYU), and an MBA in 1993 from BYU’s Marriott School of Business. He is also certified by the HR Certification Institute as a Global Professional in Human Resources (GPHR). He speaks English and Spanish fluently. He lives with his wife, Deanne, in Elma, NY. They have four grown children.
