CEO, Save the Children India
Bidisha has a Masters in Sociology and brings over 20 years of experience as a social development and policy specialist working on a range of issues which include child rights (child labour, trafficking, education, violence against girls), women’s’ empowerment, food and nutrition security, substance use and HIV prevention and ICTs for development.
She started her career in the Banking and Financial sector and moved on very early to the development world working with organizations such the United Nations, the UK Government Department for International Development (DFID) and several national and international NGOs.
Bidisha joined Save the Children in 2015, and was overseeing Programmes and Policy Impact before taking over as CEO. Prior to joining Save the Children Bidisha was working as the Head of Strategy, Results and Communications at UK DFID for India. Her hobbies include music, theatre and travelling.
