Gulf HR Associate Director and Arabian Peninsula Talent Management Leader for Procter & Gamble
A Saudi national who has lived across Europe and the United States, Bakr Darwish is the Gulf HR Associate Director and Arabian Peninsula Talent Management Leader for Procter & Gamble. Bakr began his career with Procter & Gamble in 1997, when he interned at the Company’s Jeddah plant. He joined P&G in February 1999, initially growing from a Manufacturing Line Manager for the Fairy and Downy brands, to oversee the production of P&G’s shampoo brands in Saudi Arabia as the Technical Design & Supply Manager for Shampoo Packaging.
Bakr switched to Human Resources, first taking up the role of Organization Excellence, Learning & Developing and Recruiting Manager for the Company’s Dammam Plant, and then subsequently leading all HR operations as Plant Senior HR Manager in Dammam. He relocated to Dubai as the Senior HR Manager. Today, he oversees the HR operations in the UAE and talent management across the Gulf for over one thousand P&G employees. His role includes promoting Procter & Gamble’s vision for diversity and inclusion and gender parity.
Bakr graduated in 1998 with a Bachelors in Electric Engineering from King Fahad University of Petroleum and Minerals. He lives with his family in Dubai, and he enjoys food, travel and working with diverse people.
