Farhan Pettiwala currently works as a full-time President with Enactus India since Sept’2011.
Enactus is a global network of top leaders of today and tomorrow with a head for business and a heart for the world who use business to empower people in need to live better lives in a sustainable way. Under his leadership Enactus has grown from 35 universities in the India to 51 active universities with over 2,000 active students across India.
Farhan is a gold-medalist Mechanical Engineer from University of Pune, in addition has studied management from prestigious educational institutions such as HBS (Harvard Business School), and ISB (Indian School of Business). He is recognized by CII (Confederation of Indian Industry) and IGBC (Indian Green Building Council) for his success in growing a start-up engineering (EPC) business from ground zero to a multi-billion size (single-handedly as a green-field entrepreneur) and thereafter growing a successful JV (joint-venture) business. He has experience of over 19 years which spans across companies like Norfolk Group (ASX listed firm with over $800m revenue), and Carrier India (United Technologies Corporation) with hands-on experience in managing entire P&L, Strategy, Operations, Business Development and M&A (inorganic growth) in addition to managing a matrix organization structure. Most importantly, he has a passion for youth and community development with a long track record of university/student engagement and community service.
Farhan Pettiwala has been the Country Head cum Managing Director (India) of Norfolk Group, prior to joining Enactus India. Norfolk Group is an ASX listed firm with revenues of over $800million. Having spent over two decades building up the Engineering Business (EPC, MEPF business up to a point where it was one of India’s premier EPC, MEPF Project Management, Execution and Service organizations, Farhan Pettiwala was instrumental in signing a 85:15 JV with Norfolk.
Farhan himself has been especially active in the Indian business community, Creating and steering an industry innovation advisory board, made up of CEO’s and other business leaders from a range of successful business entities. Farhan has been on the CII committee that is charged with increasing employment opportunities. He is an alumni of Harvard Business School, Indian School of Business(Hyderabad), and a Gold Medalist (University of Pune). He has been recognized by Business India &Outlook Money as Emerging Business Leader in 2007.
