Amit Narain

Head of HR, Nestle South Asia Region

Amit Narain is Head of HR, Nestle South Asia Region. Amit started his career at Shaw Wallace in 2000 after completing a B Com (Hons), from Ramjas College, Delhi University and a MBA from SIBM.  He has been in leadership positions at Nestle for 13 years  working through a series of increasingly broader assignments across India. Between 2011 and 2014 Amit was appointed Head of Global HR Excellence Intervention, Nestlé Continuous Excellence, Nestlé Corporate Head Quarters, Switzerland.  In 2014

Amit was appointed Head of Corporate HR for India and in 2015 was elevated to his current role as HR Head for Nestle, South Asia Region – a region spanning six countries, ~10,000 employees and revenues in excess of INR 10,000 crores.

Amit took over and led the Human Resource function during the turbulent Maggi crisis. Key engagements included liaising with blue collar unions and ensuring industrial peace, designing unique communication platforms to continuously build employee morale during crisis, launching of a pan India cultural intervention ‘Rise2Gether’ to re-energize and re-invent the ways of working to create a Fast. Focused. Flexible organization.

He has also Led best-in-class benefit reviews, broadened the scope of diversity to initiate inclusion of differently abled as part of the workforce, renewed focus on employee engagement thereby enhancing the Nestlé EVP which contributed to Nestlé India being chosen as an ’employer of choice’ by Business World magazine and as the 3rd most attractive employer brand in FMCG and 6th most attractive overall by AC Nielsen.

He is also driving continuous innovation across HR through the on-going HR transformation Journey “Hire to Retire” and specific innovations in learning & development resulting in ‘Golden Peacock National Training Award’ in 2017.

Amit is married to Kshipra Bhandari now Kshipra Narain, SIBM: Batch of 2000, Campus Placement: GE India. She worked with different organizations like WIPRO, ICICI Bank before moving to the field of Leadership consulting. Now she is working as a Senior Consultant with Harvard Business Publishing as a free-lance consultant.

Amit and Kshipra have two sons Ayaan Narain (7 Years) & Ayska Narain (5 Years).
